These 3M Attest Self-Contained Biological Indicators are used with vacuum-assisted steam sterilizers at 132°C or gravity steam sterilizers at 121°C. The chemical indicator on the label changes from rose to brown when processed. After sterilization, the vial is "crushed" to join the growth media with the processed spore strip. The BI is incubated for 48 hours for a visual colour change readout. A colour change to yellow indicates surviving spores and a positive result.
