The Canadian manufacturing facility is now producing made-in-Canada 3M™ Aura™ N95 respirators. Finally, a quality, Canadian-made N95 respirator mask for Canadian Healthcare workers, available since spring of 2021!
There will only be one Healthcare product produced at this facility: the 3M™ Aura™ Healthcare Particulate Respirator and Surgical Mask, model 1870+.
A few basic facts:
- The 1870+ is Healthcare rated
- The 1870+ has a high rate of fit testing success
- Pre-ordering for healthcare facilities is possible
- Masks will initially be available in individually wrapped packs but bulk packed in cases of 440
- We are hoping to break packaging down to sell individually - pending regulatory approval
- Pricing will be at near pre-Covid levels
- Once production is fully up to speed, production is anticipated to be adequate to meet all Canadian demand for N95 Respirator masks

3M is proud to share the new manufacturing capacity of NIOSH-approved 3M N95 respirators to help ensure a consistent supply of respirators in Canada throughout the pandemic and beyond.
With support from both the Federal and Ontario governments, 3M is actively ramping up to begin production of these respirators in Canada. The two respirator models being manufactured in our Brockville, Ontario plant are the 3M™ Aura™ Health Care Particulate Respirator and Surgical Mask, 1870+, N95 intended for healthcare professional use, and the 3M™ Aura™ Particulate Respirator 9205+, N95 for industrial use. These N95 respirators are designed with two core principles in mind: safety and comfort.
If you are already familiar with the 3M™ Aura™ Healthcare Particulate Respirator and Surgical Mask, 1870+, N95, please note that the features of this respirator remain:
Flat fold 3-panel design fits a wide range of facial shapes and sizes
Soft nose foam and smooth inner materials enhance comfort
Chin tab for easy positioning, donning and adjustment
Sculpted nose panel allows more room for eyewear
Embossed top panel helps reduce eyewear fogging from warm, moist exhaled airflow
Highest level of fluid resistance*
Individually wrapped for convenience and protection from contamination before use
The 3M™ Aura™ Particulate Respirator, 9205+, N95 is a new model # in the 3M N95 respirator family. If you have previously purchased the 3M™ Aura™ Particulate Respirator, 9210+, N95, many of the 3M™ 9205+ respirator features remain the same:

The 9210+ and 9205+ are very similar in design, construction and N95 filter media. As with any instance when a new respirator is introduced, be sure to follow the fit testing requirements in your jurisdiction or as outlined in CSA Standard Z94.4. Please refer to the attached Technical Specification Sheets for additional product information.
Both the 1870+ and 9205+ models will be produced in a bulk case quantity of 440 each. The 1870+ respirator will be available in April 2021 and the 9205+ will be available in May 2021.
Demand in the market will be high for these two Canadian-made 3M™ Aura™ brand N95 respirators. Please work with your existing 3M channel partner to set up the 1870+Bulk product in your system in order to begin placing orders and/or convert existing back ordered purchase orders on the 1870+ 20/box, 6 boxes/case version."
