TEST PROCEDURE: Tear open sealed pouch, remove test strip. Leave the moisture absorbent packet in the pouch. (You do not need this packet for doing the test.) Hold green end of test strip, dip strip into urine up to the MAX line with the arrow end pointing down. Do not dip pass the MAX (maximum) line. Test strip in urine sample Hold for 2-3 seconds. Do not read results, discard the test and repeat with a fresh test unit. Positive: If two colour bands are visible, and the lower band is darker than the upper band, you will probably ovulate in the next 24- 48 hours. Negative: If you see that the lower band is lighter than the upper band or only the upper band is visible, no LH surge has been detected. EXPECTED RESULTS A positive result indicates your urine contains a high level of LH. You can assume you will ovulate in the next 24- 48 hours and plan accordingly. The 3 days before through to 3 days after ovulation is the most fertile time of your cycle when you have the best chance of conceiving. A negative result indicates no LH surge is detected in your urine. You should continue performing the test daily. PERFQRMANCE CHARACTERISTICS Sensitivity arid Specificity The Biostrip LH Ovulation Prediction Test has been designed to produce a definitive color band at test region when tested with 35 mlU/ml or higher of hLH (WHO 2nd IS for human luteinizing hormone) at room temperature.
